Peplums are popping up all over the place this season! Let's talk about what they are and more importantly how to wear them
It's the season of the Peplum!!! Some of you may be wondering what in the heck a peplum even is. Well, not to fear because I'm here to help!
A peplum is a flared ruffle that is attached to the bottom of a jacket or the top of a skirt to enhance and accentuate a woman's curves. I'm so excited that this trend is hot for the summer because not only is it cute but incredibly flattering as well! You can add a peplum jacket to a simple shirt and jeans to dress it up or wear a peplum skirt to add a little flair to your evening outfit. Here are a few peplums seen on the runway. All a with a very different look but offering that same curvaceous silhouette...

This first skirt is from TOPSHOP. It adds a little flare to that classic black skirt.....

Now let's check out some jackets, shirts and dresses that include the peplum styling. Although a peplum can be added to different articles of clothing it always offers the same flattering and sliming effect.
This first jacket is from Miss Selfrige (one of my favorite online websites to shop). It's features eyelet detailing and structured shoulders. I love that it's just a little bit edgy.....

Here's a fun purple peplum shirt by Alloy. Very inexpensive so you can try the trend out without investing too much and it comes in an assortment of colors!

This shirt is by Fair + True and I love it because it's a fun, bright african print pattern. This would be amazing with a pair of skinny jeans and heels!
