Okay, not everyone is a size two. In fact, the average woman in America today is 5’3”, 147 lbs. and wears a size ten. So perhaps it is no surprise that this year, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue has chosen to feature plus sized model, Ashley Graham. She is the first ever plus sized model to be featured in the magazine. And get this, she’s a size 16. With ample bosom and curves for days, Ashley has perhaps garnered more attention than the thinner models in this issue.
Is the new SI issue representative of society’s more accepting view towards different types of beauty? And a more accepting standard for a woman’s weight? Or do you think the swimsuit issue should be reserved for thinner models? What do YOU think?
