So, you probably have a ton of different reasons why you want to be vegan. Maybe you’ve finally been convinced that it is better for your health, or maybe, just maybe you’ve been exposed to the awful truth of what animals endure for the sake of being food. You crave that juicy steak that you’ve been having every Friday evening since you were ten years old, and honestly, it can be a real pain to just walk through the grocery store when you have to walk past a row of freshly cooked rotisserie chickens. We get it, and we’re not judging you, so how do you get past that meat addiction? It’s actually not as difficult as you are thinking, and it can all start with meatless Mondays.
Starting Out with Meatless Mondays
This entire thing is going to start with you making a commitment to go meatless on Mondays. Hey, it’s the beginning of the week right? Why start the week out right? Instead of having a meat with your dinner (usually as the main course), check out one of the great vegan recipes online and make yourself a true feast. We promise it’s not going to be as bad as you think.
It all starts with Mondays, and it might take some time for you to ween yourself off of the habit. That being said, you can move forward the next month by adding a meatless Thursday, and so on. You have a bit of work ahead of you, but if you ar motivated and creative, you will be able to continue your crusade, eventually becoming the vegan that you dream of.
It’s Just Better for You
Quite frankly, we all know (even if some of us don’t want to admit it) that going vegan is better for you – perhaps more so than we realize. Many plant-based foods are known to reduce stress and anxiety, and in addition to that, they can actually reduce depression – that’s a huge leap forward for many people. And once you get into the world of veganism and learn about the options, you will see that the need for supplements and lack of protein is mostly a misnomer. They say that you are what you eat, and while you’re not necessarily going to turn into a cow, you will find that many meat diets such as the Standard American Diet, filled with hormones, antibiotics, and face it – bad karma, can have a very negative effect on your mind, your body, and many aspects of your life.
Start with the meatless Mondays and move forward – the only sacrifices you will make are cravings, and in the end, it will be well worth the effort.
