Stay In Shape While Traveling
When going on vacation I like to always go prepared with my own fitness routine. You never know if your hotel is going to have a gym and something about going to a gym while on vacation, for most people, isn't appealing. However, after breakfast and your morning coffee or tea, there is no excuse not to squeeze in a quick 30 minute workout. It's 30 minutes of your day/life and it will put you in an upbeat mood for the rest of your day.
This is my new favorite exercise system. They are called Gliders. There are two different kinds: one for hard floors and one for carpet floors. They are as thin as paper plates, so they take up no room in your bag and weigh next to nothing. If you want to give a test run to how this exercise system works, you can use paper plates or a frisbee. Gliders make common routines, such as lunges or side squats, energized with a smooth flowing motion. Your core has never been so engaged as it is when using Gliders.
There are tons of workouts you can do with these, but my favorite are walking pike planks and gliding lunges! They will sculpt your body and enhance your balance, flexibility, core and cardio strength. Check out their site for more info:

Another one of my favorites is jumping rope. It gets your heart rate up within seconds for a top cardio burn. The one I use is this calorie counting jump rope. Again, light weight, packs away easily in your luggage and best of all, it counts calories! Got to love technology these days.

Last, but not least, Resistance Bands. I use these every day! Even if I don't want to do a full workout I put mine around my upper thighs while watching T.V. and get a great thigh workout. For a quick resistance band workout, check out our Fit Chic, Marzia Prince resistance band article:

Two of my favorite travel videos…amazing quick and effective 30 minute workouts. You will be dripping sweat and ready to take on the day!

Safe travels this summer and remember, everyone has 30 minutes a day to dedicate to fitness and giving back to your body:)
Until next time stay VivaFit!
