TIME TO DETOX
Detoxing is the process of removing impurities from the body. The premise of cleansing the body came from the Ancient Egyptians and Greeks in which foods consumed can produce toxins in the body. They believed in cleansing the body in many different ways to get rid of them. Science later supported that this theory was true. Not only can you detox your body, you can detox other areas of your life. When you detox your mind, body, and soul, you live an all over meaningful and long healthy balanced life.
There are many ways to detox your body. I would start off with the most important one: NUTRITION.Coming off the holidays, we all know that we put more toxic types of food in our bodies than we normally would in our diets. Then the New Years comes around and people just go cold turkey getting on some sort of healthy eating plan (AKA fad diet) only to fail a few months later. Next thing you know, life gets busy, your nutrition gets put on the backburner and you are right back where you started. Toxic.
Evaluate yourself. Are you tired and sluggish? Do you have skin problems like acne or a dull complexion? How is your digestive system, running smoothly? What about your weight? Are you overweight or skinny fat? Can you think clearly? If you answered yes to any of these questions, it may be time for a detox. One detox a year can help nourish your body and bring you back to life.
A natural whole food organic diet should be the center of a proper nutrition program. Prevention is always better than cure. By eating real whole foods, you will heal and nourish your body back to good health. Fresh fruit and veggies should be on the top of the list. They have many healing properties with will bring vitality back to the cells of your body. Some of the better detoxes are the ones that include raw fresh whole foods. It is a staple that I do every year. I always feel really good after I finish my yearly detox.
By eliminating foods that have artificial ingredients, chemical additives, hormones, and pesticides; you will be decreasing the amount of toxins that were building up in your system. Your body will run more efficiently.
Sweat it out. The fat in our body holds toxins. Exercise is an important factor in ridding the body of toxins. It is an effective way to stimulate all the systems of the body to expel waste and lose fat. So if you are storing a lot of fat, chances are your fat cells are holding on to a lot of toxins. Adding some type of cardio program to your workout regimen will help speed up the process. Just know that every time you workout, you are doing some detoxing.
Reduce stress by eliminating negative self talk. Get rid of the negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. Even if you don’t believe it at first, through time and practice, you will become a positive person. A good way to get started is by reading positive motivational and self help books. This will guide you along the way. By focusing on your strengths and not your weaknesses, you will have one powerful positive mind in no time.
SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE
Nobody likes a negative Nelly. Try to avoid negative people in your life (make sure you are not one of them either). It’s not like we can avoid everyone in our lives, but sometimes you have to re-evaluate your friends, family, and co-workers. Ask yourself, are they draining to be around? Do they constantly see the negative in what you have to say? By reducing contact with them or showing them your positive energy, you can change your life. Life is too precious to be negative.
