Fashion Speaks Charity Collected Hundreds of Toys at Glamorous Runway Show
Earlier this week, The Art Institute of California and Fashion Speaks presented their annual student fashion show at Le Meridien Delfina Hotel in Santa Monica, CA. Over 400 guests were asked to bring an unwrapped toy to benefit underprivileged children in Los Angeles. Attendees were greeted by Marines dressed in full uniform who took the presents for Toys for Tots and the Pico Youth Center.
Beth Bowen of Bravo TV’s “There Goes Motherhood” hosted the event and additional partners included Iconic Beauty, Moreno Champagne, TNT Hair and Makeup Agency, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Sprinkles Cupcakes!
The innovative runway show was held in the penthouse ballroom and showcased designers Maggie Berry, Adolfo Sanchez, House of Chapple, Joshua Christensen (Project Runway Season 9) and Naima X Hitoma (America’s Next Top Model winner Naima Mora, cycle 4). Art Institute of California designers included Nazeli Zeynalyan, Susie Carillo, Dagmar Lazcano, Vida Skaite, Martha Montiel-Moreno, Augustus Victor and Justine Kristen. Also included was on-site gallery art that featured pieces by Christina Twomey, James Wilde and Shlome Hayun.
Glamorous guests included Blac Chyna, Ava Capra, Chandler Kinney (FOX’s Lethal Weapon), Laith Ashley De La Cruz & Isis King (OXYGEN’s Strut), Kiara Belden (America’s Next Top Model) and of course, our very own Katarina Van Derham!
After the fashion show, guests were treated to a performance by award winning Joshua Stevens and partied in the ballroom and restaurant, The Sandbox, until midnight!
