Exfoliation: How to and Its Benefits

Is there a step in your skincare routine that you often leave out? A lot of us tend to forget to exfoliate a few times a month, as we only take care of the basics. But exfoliation is the key to healthy, glowing, younger-looking skin!

Exfoliation is the act of removing the dead skin cells on the skin’s surface, either mechanically or chemically (or both). Here are three reasons why exfoliating weekly is beneficial for your skin!



Clogged pores are little clogged bumps on the skin, as well as blackheads. The more you remove surface dry skin cells, the less oil will stay trapped in your pores.



It’s typical for women to load up on heavier creams to try and compensate for dryness, but you can’t re-hydrate dead skin cells; layering on heavy creams is not the answer. What you want to do is to increase your exfoliation which will help to remove the dead, flaky skin cells. Then,  moisturize the new skin cells.



The skin’s natural exfoliation process slows as the skin ages, resulting in an accumulation of dry skin cells. Exfoliating regularly will help the skin look younger and stay healthy longer.
