Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know about Huda Kattan, the internet’s favorite beauty blogger turned makeup entrepreneur. She’s an internet phenomenon with millions of social media followers. Huda has found tremendous success with her eponymous beauty line, Huda Beauty, and is now considered an international beauty connoisseur.
Huda hasn’t always been the beauty guru she is today. She started her career in finance and worked at a 9-5 job. After the financial crash of 2009, she decided to follow her true passion for makeup after she lost her job; her sister, Mona, encouraged her to pursue her dreams. She then flew to Los Angeles to study makeup artistry, and the rest is history.
In addition to running her own company, Huda has also landed some major magazine covers like Glamour and Bazaar. Her latest venture is in the world of reality television with a 10 episode series called, “Huda Boss.” It premiered on Facebook Watch on June 12th with new episodes released every Tuesday. Facebook is funding the series in an attempt to attract more viewers and content creators to the platform.
The show is centered around Huda’s makeup brand and the three lady bosses who run it— Huda, who founded the brand, her sister and business partner Mona Kattan, and her other sister Alya, who functions as the Chief Instagram officer. Her husband Chris who is the COO, daughter Noor, and father Ibrahim also feature prominently in the series.
It showcases the inner workings of Huda Beauty as well as all the highs and lows of being part of a multi-million dollar company. You can expect to be entertained by all the regular tropes of reality television, set in beautiful Dubai. The first episode delves into the launch of a new concealer (with disastrous consequences) and some real talk about plastic surgery. There’s even a brewing romance thrown in for good measure. It offers a truly behind the scenes look into the workings of the brand.
To promote the show, Huda will engage with fans through Live Q&As on Facebook Watch throughout the season. She’ll also be sharing makeup tips and tricks via Facebook to reach out to her massive follower base.
Like most other reality shows, Huda Boss seems more produced than “real.” But there’s no denying the fact that it’s highly entertaining. Long-time fans are sure to enjoy getting a glimpse into their favorite social media influencer’s life.
