Don’t Like Chocolate? Try These Tempting Desserts on Valentine’s Day!
We get it: not everyone can love chocolate as much as we do. And if we’re really honest, there are probably sometimes we’d prefer to set the chocolate aside in favor of something different for a change, though equally as delectable in our opinion.
Valentine’s Day is a holiday often overrun by chocolate, which doesn’t seem fair to the average girl who simply doesn’t care for it. Great news, though: we’ve discovered a couple of desserts that are perfect for Valentine’s Day that do not include chocolate in any way, shape or form. What are you waiting for? Eggless / Vegan Banana Bread
What You Need:
- 4 medium ripe bananas
- 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
- ½ cup coconut oil
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 2-3 pinches nutmeg powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- Salt to taste
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees, and grease a rectangular bread pan with some coconut oil. Mash and puree the bananas with the sugar in a large mixing bowl using a stand or hand mixer. Add your oil, vanilla, cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, and mix into the banana and sugar mixture thoroughly. Sieve the flour with the baking soda, baking powder, and salt directly in the bowl containing the mashed bananas.
Fold the sieved flour very well. Pour the bread mixture into the bread pan, and bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean. Slice and serve the bread while still warm, and enjoy with a hot cup of coffee!
