Maria Grazia Chiuri’s first collection with Dior (spring 2017) included a “We Should All Be Feminists” t-shirt that garnered the most buzz on the runway! It was paired with a gorgeous floor length, midnight blue see-thru skirt with hand beaded detailing! The model also wore simple, understated jewelry and minimal makeup as this t-shirt was definitely the centerpiece of the look! The inspiration for this design was Chimamanda Nzozi Adichie’s essay and TED talk with the same name.
Now, Dior is donating a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of each t-shirt to The Clara Lionel Foundation that is Rihanna’s non-profit organization! In fact, Rihanna snapped a pic on her Instagram showing her wearing Chiuri’s shirt with torn jeans, workman’s boots and a black pinstripe blazer!
ICYDK, Rihanna was named Humanitarian of the Year by the Harvard Foundation! In 2012, she started CLF that supports global education, health and emergency response programs. She did this in honor of her grandparents.
This shirt will cost a pretty penny at $710.00, but know that a percentage is going to a good cause. It will be available at Dior boutiques and online until May 15th. And a special limited edition black version will be available at www.saks.com from March 14 to March 28 only.
Chiuri said, “Seeing artists such as Rihanna wearing the We Should All Be Feminists t-shirt showed me how important it is for women to advance their fight. My position in a house as influential as Dior, but also my role as a mother, reminds me every day of my responsibilities and the importance of my actions.”
What do YOU think? Will you be wearing the “We Should All Be Feminists” t-shirt from Dior this season?
