Cindy Crawford Recreates Iconic Super Bowl Pepsi Ad 26 Years Later

An iconic supermodel is back in the spotlight! Cindy Crawford is going back to the Super Bowl. The legendary model recreated her memorable 1992 Super Bowl ad for Pepsi, now featuring her 18-year-old son, Presley Gerber.

The commercial also includes footage from Michael Jackson’s unforgettable Pepsi ad.

“This time of year it always gets featured in the roundups of the Best Super Bowl Commercials ever, and every January I revisit my original Pepsi spot that I just love because the music was perfect and the little boys were perfect and it was just one of those commercials that everyone loved and it made people happy,” she said.

For the 51-year-old runway star, the best part of this trip down memory lane was the opportunity to work with her son.  “Just as a mother, we drove to work together that day and we shared the same trailer. And when he was doing his thing, I was just a proud mom watching from the sidelines, trying not to annoy him,” Crawford told.

The new Super Bowl ad, named “This Is The Pepsi,” is part of a new campaign in honor of the brand’s 120-year history in pop culture.

The original commercial shows Crawford in a tank top and jean shorts, driving a Lamborghini and stopping at a gas station to buy a can of soda.

But this time her overall look was quite different: a denim shirt, white jeans, and boots.

“I don’t know if the shorts would still fit but this time we didn’t want to bring them back because the commercial is about passing onto the next generation, it was a nod to the old commercial without wearing the exact same outfit,” said Crawford. “Time has gone on and I have an 18-year-old son now. I think Kaia will wear them one day.”

Crawford’s modeling career has not only been followed by her son but also her daughter Kaia Gerber. The fashionable 16-year-old d graces the February cover of Vogue Paris.

“She’s more ready for it. She’s just so much more sophisticated and worldly than I was at that age,” she said of her daughter’s success. “I do know the business … (and) I feel like who better to help guide my kids?” she added.

“It kind of happened for both of them and they listen to my advice when it comes to this. The one thing they can’t say is, ‘Mom, you don’t get it.'”
