Battle of the Strands

Battle of the Strands is a nationwide competition between hair salons, battling it out to create the most glamorous, unique looks, from hair, to makeup and even costumes. Twelve hair salons made the cut and were flown to Las Vegas to show off their talents, and ultimately five salons made it to the final round. The end result was an elaborate display of creativity and wild imaginations, come to life. Just days before the main event, the theme: Gold, was was revealed to the 5 contending salons. The main event took place at the Joint in at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Amongst the panel of judges were  Kandee Johnson, Celebrity Makeup Artist and YouTube Personality, Rafe Hardy, Artistic Creative Director of Sexy Hair, Fashion Designer, Nick Verreos and Rain Cosmetics Co-Founder, Lori Montoya.

These judges had their work cut out for them as we all witnessed the mind blowing talents of five salons who define thinking outside of the box. Those who were unable to attend the event were able to watch it via live stream on YouTube. Kim Vo, winner of last years' very first Battle of the Strands, hosted the competition, along with Dana Roselli.

Clark Russell Salon

Fringes, awarded Best Mastery in Makeup with Bhumi brushes went to Fringes salon for their colorful rendition and flawless finish, along with the People's Choice Award

Glam Alliance, Battle of the Strands Xtreme Salon 2012 winner, and awarded Best Hair Design with Sexy Hair for their towering take on this year’s theme

Body Spa, awarded for Best in Color with Schwarzkopf Professional
