How many of you remember the movie, Palm Springs Weekend, with Connie Stevens and Troy Donahue? Well, if you don’t, this film takes you on a two hour, fun-filled road trip to Palm Springs filled with glamour and excitement! Earlier this year, VIVA GLAM MAGAZINE decided to venture on a Palm Springs weekend of our own. With the help of Wolf
Worster and Associates, we jotted from Los Angeles to sunny Palm Springs for a fabulous fashion photoshoot, as seen in California Heat

The trip from Los Angeles to Palm Springs is only two hours long; it is such a quick getaway and yet you feel miles away from home. Located in Rancho Mirage, the estate we were traveling to was an architectural dream. Located on a corner lot, with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, there was plenty of room for all. The main house contains a large master bedroom and bathroom suite plus three smaller bedrooms. This open-air living plan showcases a full sized professional kitchen, living room and dining area.
We loved the ultra modern architecture and furniture! The living room showcased a unique chandelier that was comprised of hand written letters hung at the end of each arm of this interesting lighting fixture. Letters came from China, The Middle East, Europe and from other areas in the world. These letters of appreciation were from guests who have stayed at this luxurious estate and were written in many languages complete with surprisingly fantastic artwork!
Another unexpected surprise in the main house was a private movie theatre stocked with plenty of first run DVDs! This theatre boasts a 120″ projection screen and seats six comfortably in reclining leather sofas! If you’re not interested in taking in a film with everyone, each room is equipped with its own flat screen TV and very functional air conditioning which is essential for cooling comfort in Palm Springs.
The house is also equipped with the Control 4 Home System that allows you to play music from your own Apple device throughout the home!
Outside the main house, there are nanny’s quarters that feature a large bedroom and bathroom. This house is very private, charming and perfect for an au pair or the couple wanting their own space.
In the back yard area, there is an 800 square foot casita which features a bedroom, living room, two bathrooms and a full sized kitchen. This is a perfect area for a family with small children.
Best of all, this estate boasts the largest (26 meter) residential lap pool in Palm Springs. With the seasonably warm weather, a dip in the pool was just what we were looking for. The outside area also has a large BBQ, outdoor kitchen, shaded patio and outdoor water misters to help beat the heat. There is also a smaller children’s pool below, which is perfect for congregating at the end of the day. There is also a sauna and hot tub for those of you wanting to unwind and relax your body.
The entire estate is enclosed within a gated wall and completely private. And it is surrounded in lush desert landscaping. Palm trees and exotic succulents abound. There is a perfectly manicured lawn in the backyard ideal for sunbathing. This property also has wireless internet throughout and has a full sized office for those of you needing to do a little work while on vacation. Oh, and did I mention it is fully staffed with pool maintenance, gardener and maid service?
Conveniently, this estate is only minutes from the main strip in town. We ventured five minutes down the road and ate dinner at a local Hibachi restaurant. It was so much fun watching the Hibachi chef cooking our meal. And it was only a short trip back to the estate. Convenient, quick and fun!
Other local sites include: The Living Desert, a zoo devoted to desert dwellers from around the world. This zoo features a tram ride that takes you on a journey through the deserts of the world, hiking and the opportunity to marvel at desert animals and exotic plant life from Africa, Australia, and North America.
The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway raises 8500 feet above the desert floor and is a terrific way to see all of Palm Springs. Hiking, camping and guided nature walks are also offered by the tramway.
The Palm Spring Aerial Museum offers a look at the airpower of World War II and is known as one of the best air museums in the world.
The Palm Springs Art Museum showcases modern and contemporary art and is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon.
If you like to gamble, Agua Caliente Casino is a luxury getaway that is only 10 minutes from this residence. With a 45,000 square foot gambling floor, award winning restaurants, shopping, swimming and spa, this is a casino you won’t want to miss!
And no vacation to Palm Springs is complete without golfing on one of its world premiere golf courses! The Rancho Mirage Country Club, Mission Hills Country Club and Rancho Las Palmas Golf Course are minutes from this prestige residence.
It’s no wonder The Jonas Brothers stayed here on their recent trip to Palm Springs!
