4 Ways to Jazz Up Your Guacamole

New and exciting ways to make guacamole more exciting!

Most of us love guacamole. It is a fresh and tasty appetizer and a topping for nachos, enchiladas, and tacos. It is a quick and simple treat to make so almost anyone can have fun creating it.

Guacamole in its most simple form consists of ripe avocados, lemon juice, chopped tomatoes, and onion; but sometimes you might want to jazz up this basic recipe. Don’t worry if you think this will be complicated or difficult. Quite contrary, making subtle changes to your recipe can make it taste completely different and is so easy to do!

Add a Kick

Try adding chopped, fresh jalapeno peppers into your recipe. If you want a milder flavor that is not too spicy, make certain you take out the seeds. If you want more of a kick, keep the seeds in because this is where the majority of the heat is.  You can also add pickled jalapenos for a slightly different flavor.

Make it Fusion

You can also try adding spices from around the world. How about dry cumin, freshly ground black pepper, or mint? No matter your entree that evening, you can add almost any spice mix into guacamole to have it easily blend in with the rest of your meal.

Add Fruit or Vegetables

Tropical fruits such as mango, papaya, and pineapple, as well as citrus fruits, are great natural additions to your guacamole due to their levels of acidity. For foodies who prefer savory or sweet, adding leafy greens such as kale and collard greens, can make your guacamole more like a superfood treat and a great after workout snack.

Change Up Your Presentation

If you normally serve it in a bowl, how about serving it in an avocado shell!  And you can also modify your recipe by changing up the texture. If you usually keep it chunky, try making it smoother or vice versa.
